Washington, D.C. (Oct. 3, 2018) – NFIB, the nation’s leading small business advocacy association, today is endorsing Lea Marquez Peterson for Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District.
“As a lifelong Arizonan and former business owner, Lea Marquez Peterson has a deep understanding of the challenges Arizona’s small businesses face,” said NFIB’s Arizona State Director Chad Heinrich. “We are confident that she will stand up for small business in the U.S. House and will work to protect small business tax cuts and eliminate burdensome regulations. On behalf of our members in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, we are proud to endorse Lea Marquez Peterson for election to the United States House of Representatives.”
Lea Marquez Peterson previously owned a chain of gasoline stations and convenience stores in Tucson, Arizona, in addition to a business brokerage firm.
“NFIB is the voice for small businesses across the nation and I am honored to have their support in my campaign for Congress. Helping small businesses is something I am deeply passionate about and it has been my predominate focus as President of the Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Southern Arizona’s economy is comprised of over 94% small businesses and it’s absolutely critical that voters elect someone that will continue to promote pro-growth policies that move our economy forward. I am eager to work with NFIB in the future as we collaborate on growing Southern Arizona’s economy,” said Peterson.
“Lea Marquez Peterson knows the issues that small businesses care about firsthand,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “With her extensive background and policy goals, she will be a strong advocate for small businesses in the U.S. House. We are glad to endorse her today.”
NFIB is the nation’s leading small business advocacy association. Lea Marquez Peterson’s endorsement today comes from the NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. Small business owners vote in high percentages and they are influential in their communities. NFIB members in Arizona will work hard to elect Lea Marquez Peterson to the U.S. House.
