NFIB Michigan PAC Endorses Incumbents for State House and Senate

Date: July 23, 2018

“We support the candidates who support small business”

LANSING, (July 23, 2018) – NFIB today announced that its Michigan political action committee had endorsed incumbent legislators who are running for reelection in state House and Senate races in 2018.

“These candidates know what it takes to create jobs, and they understand the challenges that small-business owners face in Michigan. They are committed to making this state a better place to raise a family and own a business,” said Charlie Owens, NFIB’s Michigan state director.

NFIB is the leading small-business association in the nation with thousands of members in Michigan representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsements come from the NFIB MI PAC, the association’s state political action committee, and are based on the incumbents’ 2017-2018 NFIB Voting Record. Legislators must have a score of 70-percent or higher in order to be considered for endorsement.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for NFIB MI PAC-endorsed candidates this year in the Primary and General Elections.

Owens indicated that the 2017-2018 NFIB Voting Record would be posted to the NFIB website as well as mailed to the members in August. Click here for more information on the specific votes that were considered.
