HARRISBURG, (April 22, 2016) – The National Federation of Independent Business, the nation’s leading small-business association, today announced its endorsements in Pennsylvania’s state House of Representative primary races.

“You can bet as a state representative, these candidates will stand for small-business owners, manufacturers, working families and family farmers,” said Kevin Shivers, executive state director of NFIB Pennsylvania.

“With a state budget battle brewing in Harrisburg and billions of dollars in tax increases on small businesses and working families on the line, this election is critically important.  We need more reform-minded lawmakers in Harrisburg that are willing to stand up against calls for higher taxes, work to reduce excessive regulations, and take steps to tackle the growing public pension crisis,” said Shivers.

NFIB is endorsing the following state House candidates in the 2016 Pennsylvania primary election:

Russ Diamond – District 102

Greg Rothman – District 87

Rich Irvin – District 81

Justin Simmons – District 131

Sue Helm – District 104

John McGinnis – District 79

Mindy Fee – District 37

Daryl Metcalf – District 12

Brad Roae – District 6

NFIB has 14,000 small-business members in Pennsylvania representing a cross-section of the state’s economy. The endorsement comes from NFIB Pennsylvania’s SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, the association’s political action committee, and are based on positions regarding key small-business issues including health care, taxes, and labor and regulatory issues.

Small-business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members, and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB will encourage its members to help turn out the small-business vote for these candidates on March 15.
