NFIB has presented its coveted Guardian of Small Business Award to U.S. Rep. Ted Budd (13th District).
The Guardian of Small Business Award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on members of Congress in recognition of their efforts to support small business issues. NFIB North Carolina State Director Gregg Thompson presented the award to Budd on Wednesday, Aug. 29, following an NFIB Small Business Roundtable with the congressman at Illuminating Technologies, an NFIB member business in Greensboro.
Budd has earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in the 115th Congress (2017-18), siding with small businesses on regularity and legal reform. He also supported the historic Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which eased the financial pressure on small businesses and made it easier for them to grow and to create jobs.
“Congressman Budd understands the challenges facing North Carolina’s small businesses,” Thompson said. “He has shown us time and again that he understands the role small businesses play in our economy and that he understands the need to reduce government’s role in their lives.
“On behalf of our members here and throughout the country, I want to thank Congressman Budd for his hard work and dedication to small businesses,” Thompson said. “It’s my honor to present him with this Guardian of Small Business Award.”
