Tallahassee, FL, September 24, 2018
— NFIB, the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, today announced its full support and endorsement of Ron DeSantis for Governor of Florida. NFIB announced the endorsement today during a roundtable meeting with small business leaders at NFIB member business Performance Feeders in Oldsmar.

“Ron DeSantis is the clear choice for small business owners in the Governor’s race,” said NFIB’s Florida Executive Director Bill Herrle. “DeSantis believes in free enterprise and supports cutting taxes and reducing the scope of government – the same policies that have grown Florida’s economy, created jobs, and positioned our state as an economic leader. Andrew Gillum’s progressive polices are an outright threat to free enterprise. His anti-business approach will deflate small business optimism, which is currently at record-breaking levels.”

The endorsement was made by the NFIB Florida PAC, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of NFIB. I have always been a strong supporter of small businesses and I know the important role they play in Florida’s economy,” DeSantis said. “As Governor, I look forward to working together with NFIB to keep taxes low and reduce burdensome regulations. I am committed to maintaining an economic climate where small businesses can thrive so that Floridians can achieve their version of the American dream.”

NFIB is the state’s leading small business advocacy organization, with nearly 10,000 small business owner members in Florida. The NFIB Florida PAC’s endorsement is significant in an important election year. Small business owners and their employees vote in high numbers and are known for actively recruiting friends, family members and acquaintances to go to the polls. NFIB’s political support is based on candidates’ positions and records on small-business issues.
