HOWELL, Mich. (Sept. 13, 2022) – The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Tom Barrett for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. The endorsement was announced at a campaign event hosted at NFIB member small business Highland Engineering in Howell.
“Tom Barrett has served in the Michigan Legislature since 2014 and has proven to be a strong supporter of small businesses,” said Amanda Fisher, NFIB Michigan State Director. “He has advocated for pro-small business policies and understands the various challenges small businesses in Michigan are currently facing including the lack of qualified workers, onerous regulations, and over taxation. Tom Barrett has committed to focusing on inflation and burdensome regulations in Congress. We look forward to continuing to work with him.”
“We are proud to endorse Tom Barrett to the U.S. House today,” said Sharon Sussin, NFIB Senior National Political Director. “He has been a champion for small business owners in Michigan and we are confident that he will be a dependable voice for them in Washington.”
The endorsement is issued from NFIB FedPAC, NFIB’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by voluntary contributions by NFIB members over and above their membership dues. Decisions made by the NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member-driven grassroots evaluation.
