DES MOINES, Iowa (July 29, 2020) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization, endorsed Ashley Hinson for election to the United States House of Representatives to represent Iowa’s 1st Congressional District during a campaign event in Cedar Rapids today.
“During her time in the Iowa House of Representatives, Ashley Hinson has been a leader on critical issues for small businesses, such as tax and tort reform and government overregulation,” said Matt Everson, NFIB’s Iowa State Director. “She has a true understanding of the issues our members are concerned about. We are confident that Ashley Hinson will continue to be a champion for Iowa’s small businesses, and we are proud to endorse her today for election to the U.S. House of Representatives on behalf of the small businesses in Iowa’s 1st Congressional District.”
An Iowa native, Ashley Hinson is a current member of the Iowa House of Representatives and a former award-winning journalist. She is the first female to represent the 67th District. Hinson is an NFIB Guardian of Small Business recipient and earned a 100% voting record with NFIB in 2018.
“Ashley Hinson’s 100% NFIB voting record speaks for itself,” said NFIB National Political Director Sharon Sussin. “She is a strong advocate for small businesses in Iowa, and we know she will continue to support pro-small business legislation in Congress. We are pleased to endorse her today for election to the U.S. House of Representatives, and we look forward to working with her in Congress.”
Ashley Hinson’s endorsement today comes from NFIB FedPAC, the organization’s political action committee. NFIB FedPAC is funded by NFIB member donations above membership dues. Decisions made by NFIB FedPAC are managed by a member driven grassroots evaluation process. Small business owners are influential in their communities and NFIB members in Iowa will work hard to elect Ashley Hinson to Congress.
