Will Illinois Businesses Join Together to Fight Taxes and Mandates on April 26?

Illinois has the highest overall tax burden in the nation, and people are leaving the state in droves. Meanwhile, the Legislature is considering more taxes, such as a new sales tax on eight service areas, and more employer mandates, including paid sick leave and a $15 minimum wage. Each year, it’s more of the same that got Illinois into the downward spiral it’s in now. And if businesses are not able to grow, the prospect of a turnaround is dim.

That’s why taking action is so important.

On April 26, NFIB/IL is hosting its annual Employer Action Day in Springfield, and we need you to be there to speak out about how high taxes and employer mandates are impacting your business, as well as the changes you need to see in order to thrive. This is the small business event of the year!

  • Illinois General Assembly Leadership

You’ll participate in a breakout session on business-friendly changes at the Illinois Department of Revenue and Employment Security, and you’ll receive materials and instructions on important issue topics for a visit to the capitol. Most importantly, you’ll take action by meeting with your representatives.
