What Red Tape Would Your Biz Like to Eliminate?

Date: August 01, 2017

In January 2017, Gov. Greitens issued an executive order that instructed each state agency to perform a thorough review of every regulation under its jurisdiction in order to eliminate any that ineffective, unnecessary, or overly burdensome. As part of this review, state agencies are to ask:

  • Is this regulation essential to health, safety, or welfare of Missouri residents?
  • Does this regulation’s costs outweigh its benefits?
  • Is this regulation effective?
  • Is this regulation the least restrictive alternative?
  • Is this regulation based on sound, reasonably available scientific, technical, economic, or other relevant information?
  • Does this regulation unduly or adversely affect Missouri’s citizens, customers, or competitive environment?

In addition to the internal review, Gov. Greitens and some state agencies are asking for citizen and business input. You have several chances to weigh in.
