SMALL BUSINESS AVAILABLE FOR COMMENT TOMORROW FOLLOWING WHAT THEY HOPE WILL BE A POSITIVE MESSAGE FOR ENTREPRENEURS

The state’s leading small business advocacy group,
the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) will be watching
tomorrow’s state of the state address closely and available by phone or in
person to offer commentary at the conclusion of the Governor’s remarks.

WHO:
Kristin Failor, NFIB Iowa State Director.

WHAT:
The small business perspective on the state of Iowa’s business climate and
immediate reaction to Governor Branstad’s 2016 address.

WHEN: January
12, 2016 at the conclusion of Iowa’s state of the state.

WHERE:
In person at the State House or via phone at 515-249-1414

WHY:
Small businesses in Iowa have been fighting to recover from the great recession
for years and Governor Branstad has the opportunity tomorrow to lay the frame
work to improve our economic stability and empower our entrepreneurs to
prosper. When the small business sector in Iowa does well, jobs are created and
the costs of goods and services are stabilized. In light of the Governor’s
recent remarks indicating that he may consider a minimum wage increase, it is
now, more so than ever, imperative that the concerns of the small business
community are heeded and damage is not inflicted on our precarious economic
situation.
