Here’s What You May Have Missed At This Year’s Virtual Fly-In

Date: July 01, 2021

The Virtual Fly-In advocacy event connected small business owners with legislators and one another nationwide

During the NFIB Virtual Fly-In last week, small business owners participated from their homes and offices nationwide and told their stories, advocating for members of Congress to stop the proposed tax increases and mandates being considered in Washington, D.C.

In the following video you’ll hear segments from the keynote speaker remarks of U.S. Representative Kevin Hern who co-chairs the U.S. House Small Business Caucus, Senator Bill Cassidy who is a key member of the group of senators negotiating a bipartisan infrastructure bill, and U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

NFIB President Brad Close said to Fly-In attendees, “Thank you for taking time away from your business to participate in this year’s NFIB Virtual Fly-In. … Your voice still needs to be heard and we need more small business owners who are willing to lend their voices to the fight against tax increases, new mandates, and regulations. For over 75 years, NFIB has stood with America’s small business owners and held your lawmakers accountable with your help. We look forward to continuing our work on behalf of small business. Thank you for your activism and thank you for your continuing support of NFIB.”

Every year, NFIB’s Fly-In is an opportunity for small business owners to hear from legislative experts and members of Congress and advocate for Congress to vote with Main Street’s interests in mind. The event was virtual this year with over 1,000 small business owners, more than 35 meetings with members of Congress and their staff, and attendees from all 50 states.

NFIB’s federal advocacy campaign for small businesses continues, and we need your help. On behalf of your small business, please speak up on the proposed tax increases and mandates being considered by Congress. Our pre-populated system makes it easy for you to reach your members of Congress:

If you missed the Fly-In, several sessions are available on-demand here.
